☀️ Hot Days, Cool Ideas
Let's face it: British homes are built to keep us warm. That's wonderful in winter, but when temperatures stay high for days, they can be surprisingly hard to cool down. When the house has been holding onto the heat all day, turning on the oven can feel like the last thing you want to do.
But eating well still matters, and home cooks are brilliant at adapting. That's what this challenge is all about 💪 sharing ideas that help us keep enjoying home cooking, even on the hottest days.
Cook when the air is cooler, then enjoy it later.
A big frittata, marinated vegetables for the barbecue, a proper pasta salad or homemade ice lollies are perfect for warm weather. And when it's simply too hot to cook, keep things fresh and simple: tomatoes with burrata, smoked mackerel with beetroot and watercress, a Mediterranean sharing board or an ice-cold gazpacho.
Hot weather can also make shopping and storing food a little more challenging, so if you've discovered a great way to keep ingredients fresh or avoid food waste, we'd love you to share that too.
One of the nicest things about Cookpad is that we learn from one another.
Share the recipes and tips that help you keep cooking through the heat, discover new ideas from other home cooks, and together we'll make hot days a little easier. ❤️
