My very first Lebkuchen wasn't a success, not only because I couldn't find oblaten but the dough was too liquid (I should have measured the eggs). But, I love this recipe and will try again! Thanks!

I guess getting the eggs to the right temp. is pretty important! When I made them at home, I had to guess too :( Maybe you could also try adding a bit extra flour to help soak up the water?

By the way, I tried using crackers (I tried "Carr's Table Water Cracker" at Motomachi Union) and they worked well in place of oblaten!
