I cooked it on low for approx 9 hours…it comes out pretty solid...although if you stir it up well it gets back to creamy, although quite thick. This time I used it for a Dulce de Leche cheesecake (some in the cheesecake and the rest on top)…next time I’ll cook it for a bit less time for a lighter, creamier consistency. Waaaaaaay easier to me even then doing it on the stove top or in the oven…I started it before bed and it was all done with no hassle when I got up!! Great for all kinds of things!! Thanks for sharing!!

Oh yea...dude, I came out in the morning to fine water all over the counter and the floor in front of it! o-) I was not thrilled about that..but my Crockpot just seems to have it out for me...but then a bit later when I opened that lil can and saw how good it turned out...all was forgiven! ;) Aahaha!

It is the whole can...and to be honest I was a bit nervous since I hadn't done it in the Crockpot before...but the top was a bit swollen when I took it out to let it cool...but nothing else happened ... it worked great!!

Yea ... making it this way is so easy!! But even the cooking sugar down and adding cream is pretty easy too...and amazing! Try both...you'll be happy you did!!

You put sugar in a heavy bottom pot (you can add a bit of water if your worried) and let it cook down and you'll see it start to get a golden color...then you add some cream and butter and then some vanilla ... it's amazing! If you need measurements I'll try n get them to ya... ;)

Oh heck yea...that's one of my all time faves! Thanks Michelle ... can't beat a good creamy caramel sauce! Getting more heavy cream tomorrow ... so I can make some soup and some of the sauce!! So hungry now...and that stupid cheesecake just keeps screaming at me from the kitchen ... darn thing is so loud I'm gonna have to put it outside in the rain! :annoyed ;-)

Hi Kimmie...thanks :flower this recipe is good and easy! I used it in a caramel cheesecake... it's pretty thick. Lots of uses! If you need something more loose like a sauce try a caramel sauce...I have a yummy one in my recipes :)
