Any time I am feeling bad, or when the weather is cold, this is meal I crave. Simple, fresh ingredients that come together to warm you up, and make you feel good!

Back then the school cafeteria would serve this in large aluminum cups.We wouldn't eat it if it was just the vegetables, but with the egg it's delicious.Finely chopping up the vegetables helps them to cook better. Well this is an oldie but a good one. I hated this growing up! In my early adulthood I got some sense. This is one of my fave comfort foods. It’s pioneer food lol we eat it with white beans and cornbread. We made the beans yesterday so we’re gonna feast tonight!

Just a mixture cabbage and potatoes have been going together since Colcannon was first made. This is a good meal to end winter with. The flowers are blooming and birds singing so the 2 weeks of winter are over here in Florida.

Cabbage with beef wash one of my favorites me and my kids would eat as they were growing up. Now they feed their family beef and cabbage dishes like this. Old memories and comfort food at it's best!!!

I found the original recipe on Facebook and made some minor adjustments to suit my taste. I was quite pleased with the outcome it was very tasty and cooked in short amount of time.

I had the three title ingredients all in my fridge needing to be used up. I wasn't sure what I was going to make, but as I went along this is what developed and it's mighty tasty.

This was a happy, delicious accident after failing to make it to the oven on time when the time was up because I was preoccupied by my 1 year old. They were meant to be turned into cauliflower tots, but we're unusable for that. However, I like a little Charred flavor now and then and thought this was great for munching! 😉

I love cabbage and cured ham. This is the type of recipe a drinker thinks up.Wrap the cabbage as tightly as possible. This recipe tasted nothing like i expected. The cabbage released a sweet garlicky aroma with hints of vainilla and chocolate (totally unexpected to me).It was like a dance of flavors in the mouth sweet and salty complimenting the garlic and spices. It gave some reminiscences of caramelized onion. As you reach the center the strong flavor of the cabbage like in the sauerkraut begins to dominate.It was a revelation to my palate.

A friend of mine, the same one who was talking about stuffed cabbage, was reminiscing about another thing his grandmother used to cook for him. I listened and said I could probably make it... so he bought some cabbage and bacon and I gave it a shot. He ate damn near all of it. I was happy to bring him down memory lane.
