Pancake (without eggs)
I had found this recipe online a few years ago, when I was randomly browsing, so I can't even remember whose recipe it is. I always add a little powdered fennel seeds to it, but you can avoid it altogether, it wasn't a part of the recipe. I like topping my pancake with condensed milk and lemon and the fennel seeds compliment it well. But I don't know how well other toppings will go with powdered fennel seeds.

Imagawayki / Japanese stuffed pancake
#mycookbookI thought that I would see this as a technical challenge at GBBO for Japanese week because this is such a traditional Japanese dessert...Never mind~~😂😂(The following info is from Wikipedia )Imagawayaki is a Japanese dessert often found at Japanese festivals as well as outside Japan. It is made of batter in a special pan and is normally filled with sweet azuki bean paste or vanilla custard. In Taiwan they are commonly called "red bean (i.e. azuki bean) cake" (Chinese: 紅豆餅; pinyin: hóngdòu bǐng). In the greater Taipei area they are referred to as "car wheel cake" (Chinese: 車輪餅; pinyin: chēlún bǐng). However some of the older generation may directly use the Japanese term taiko manjū (太鼓饅頭).

Sawahlunto de Pancake
Ale-ale is a typical food of the hamlet Tangah Sawah, village Silungkang Duo - municipalities Sawahlunto, West Sumatra province. There is also in the area Muaro Sijunjung and Solok. It looked like a famous pancake that came from Java island (called SERABI), but it does not use coconut milk so it has a different flavor tasty and tender. It is said that this cake already exist since the epoch of our ancestors. It's unknown why called ALE-ALE. Usually made from rice flour, coconut milk, palm sugar and (water) of grated pandan. These cakes were encountered during the morning (sold by the seller from dawn/Subuh until 6 o'clock in the morning), and is always used as a breakfast by local communities --- besides Bubu samba. With delicacy and its distinctive aroma, this food has become which one of the coveted by consumer. This snack can be eaten by anyone, from children to adults. Even ale-ale was also requested by the nomads for any events outside Silungkang, such as Jakarta and other areas.During the EXHIBITION and FASHION SHOW SONGKET SILUNGKANG at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Cikini - Central Jakarta on 30-31 October 2012, ale-ale served to fill the Los Lambung (food stand) at the event --- alongside Coki, Lupi (lupis), Soup and Soto.TIPS : To speed up the fermentation process, placed the bowl of dough over a bowl of warm water. But always keep an eye on, so don’t arise too many bubbles in the dough because it will make sour dough (excessive fermentation process). Here is the recipe "ALE-ALE Serabi ala Sawahlunto" which I have tried to make ...
