Me too! Actually I saw your recipe before! It looks amazing too. I've been wanting to try the gingersnap version but having trouble finding them over here :( Maybe I can just make them instead ;)

Thanks!! You have so many recipes too! I'm quite impressed with all the ways you can make good looking meals with hotdogs, hehe.

lol the hotdogs, spam, and canned cornbeef are often bypassed as there is only one way to serve them. I really do love hotdogs♥♥♥♥

I can't wait to try this recipe. I've been looking for a good Sauerbraten recipe for a while, but was kind of intimidated by the complexity of the recipes that I found. With your detailed descriptions and cooking procedures I feel confident that I can made this without a hitch. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. I'll surely post a pic after I make it. Thanks again, keep the great recipes coming!

Thanks so much for you comment! Same here, I was trying to find good recipes in English but wasn't so sure about the details so I used a cookbook written in German and check a bunch of German Youtube videos to double check how they were doing everything. :) I have your Rouladen and red cabbage on my to-cook list by the way!!

Thanks Louise! I probably only make big meat dishes like this once or twice a year, so when I do, I try to make it count ;)

hehe, it's a nice dish :) The tricky part is trying to not overcook the beef so it dries out! Let me know if you try!

Thanks for sharing this recipe. My Oma was from Erfurt and later moved to Unterfranken before the war. Her sauerbraten was not sweet either and I loved it. Unfortunately i never got her recipe. I made this recipe and it took me back to my childhood. Tasted just like Oma's. I almost cried at the dinner table.

Wow, I’m so happy this recipe helped you recreate your Oma’s Sauerbraten ❤️ My Oma was from Erzgebirge in Sachsen and moved to Stuttgart later on (where I lived for a few years). I miss her cooking so much too, so it’s always wonderful being able to make recipes that taste like hers!

My grandfather was from Erfurt as well! He was more known in my family for his Hackepeter and his green bean salad, but I do remember having a Sauerbraten much like this one as well... The way food can connect us to our fondest memories is just... I don't know, magic! I loved your story!!!
