First off Hello. I am a novice, an old novice but before I just tackle this recipe, I am trying "to cook my pantry, freezer etc" So I have carrots, celery and onions, appropriate seasonings and other stuff... knowing that I have a glut of rice, white rice, that i want to use, I thought, Ill use up some of the veggies I have....
Um so, I only have one question, on this Mirepoix recipe, it calls for 4 ounces of salt, that must be a mistake, yes? And in case this is that kind of site, I am going to use chicken broth instead of water... and olive oil instead of vegetable...I may also be using this again later with pork chops... well,Thanks in advanceGrandpa Al

Hey GPA AL sorry for the late response. I lost my phone and forgot I had this app. But to answer your question 4oz of salt is correct its a bigger batch usually for a cup of rice i would use 2 tablespoon. Being that this rice is for 8 cups of rice 7 times 1 cup i am using 4 oz of salt to enhance flavor. Hope this helped! Have a great day
