I guess that that significant deprivation is at least partially compensated for by all the other lovely fruit and vegetables (plus meats and fish!) you can get in Italy.As it happens, I do have parsnips in for tomorrow’s lunch as well and am tempted but I’ve already promised our son-in-law roasted parsnips. I introduced them to him, along with duck and a few other things, and he loves them. In return, his being of Sikh descent, we get some excellent curries.
