Runny. I will use knor chicken stock starter without water. The mushrooms have enough water. That way it won't be runny. It is, however, excellent.

Fresh mushrooms have no water in them. If you used jar or can mushrooms and put them and the water they are in in it that’s probably why it was runny.

I precook the mushrooms and substitute green beans for the spinach. I also add 1/4 cup of sour cream. Yummy!

Didnt have container of green chive cream cheese so i substituted for a 8 oz block of cream cheese, then added diced onion, minced garlic, garlic powder, pepper, a pinch of salt, Webbers roasted garlic and herb, plus the oil and broth that it called for. I didnt have any baby spinach, so i used a small box of the frozen spinach when it thawed and a drained jar of mushrooms. I also added seasoning on top of the chicken then put more on topof the spinach and mushrooms. I love flavor so i added it to the meat, the veggies, and the sauce. This was the BEST thing i ever taste. My bf and i argued over who would eat the last portion. We had enough for 2 days and he wanred me to make it again after it was gone but i had everything but more spinach. What would be a good substitute?

Agree with Judy..as seen around edges of photo too much watery liquid. As is,not a do over for me..may try again using cream.of chicken soup.( Campbell's base changed theirs and it's not a thick & creamy,will opt.for store brand next time.)

We just made this last night. We are on vacation and did not have the correct size of anything, so the recipe was a bit of a mess. However, it still turned out glorious. Leslie, the cream cheese is the one in a round container and sold in one size. We used the square container of mushrooms (shiitake) and the smallest plastic container of baby spinach Harris Teeter had. Pretty much, I had enough spinach (which I tore and ripped off the hard stems) to not see the chicken underneath. I then did the same thing with the mushrooms. I was doubtful while it was cooking, but husband said it tasted like something you would buy from a restaurant. (Used chicken cutlets because they were on sale)
