Yes my mom used to make for us ....she must have learnt from one Odia Panditji who used to often visit us when we were kids .....once I came from school I was surprised he had cooked PITHA at our place from his collected dakshina rice, coconut and gur...he had asked my mom for the space, stove and utensils and prepared everything himself oh my God I cannot forget the taste and the big size of the PITHA which in Bengali & Assamese is called Pithe ......I also made once or twice but my hubby doesn't like to eat much fried stuff so I make the gulgula once in a blue moon😃

Yes she was a keen learner would learn new recipes n try.... whenever she visited any part of India or learn from friends made in our school ...as in our time most moms used to come to pick up kids at school...rather my granny was excellent she would love to experiment in the kitchen 😃....in our time it was more of indigenous food than now.
