I just remade these today. You may want to check your baking powder to see if it expired. My did but you can still use it. I did a double batch so instead of 3 tsp of baking powder I put in 4. I also added another stick of butter, 1/4 cup more milk and 1/3 more buttermilk milk. Not only did they rise Very well but they were flaky moist and delicious. Keep in mind recipes are just a starting point, a guide... you play with them and make them your own. Once you memorize the ingredients to a recipe you are free to make it however you like and on the fly!

Hello Everyone,I made these biscuits for breakfast and they are truly the best tasting, softest, and easiest recipe I have ever made. Go it right on the first take which is a new first for me. Next time I order Popeye's fried chicken, I'll make the biscuits and save all that cash. Thanks for the secret recipe!

It says this is a copy cat recipe but Popeyes uses special cake flour for their biscuits and you have listed reg all purpose flour. Are you sure they taste the same?

They're not the same at all. I made this recipe and they are bland, dry and unappealing in color.

Maybe not exactly the same, but still very close and with the same crisp buttery outside & soft flakey inside. (the only thing I did different from the recipe is folded 3 times after rolling it out, and greased the baking ban with butter.)

I’ve never made biscuits from scratch before and I'm glad I went with this recipe! Not bland at all and they are biscuits so I'm not sure what some people were expecting. My new go to biscuit recipe thank you!!

mine also did not rise, i think maybe something is missing from the recipe prep or process wise, the ingredients seem fine... also dont get so heated if someone didnt like the recipe, like you said, you dont have the same palette, and it's fair for him to say that he didnt like it... more constructive criticism would be better tho... anyways bit chewy and flat, my ingredients are fine, might be the buttermilk, i had to make it from scratch, or i could have kneaded a little too much. flavor is not bad tho and was a fun first try, ill try again.

I honestly only tried this recipe because I thought that comment was really rude and I wanted to see for myself if it was “terrible & bland”. I followed the recipe step by step and they rise and taste great. This is my go to biscuit recipe now. I recommend shredding the butter with a cheese grater if you try again.

I just made these for breakfast, served with eggs & bacon gravy. I loved them, my wife loved them, maybe not exactly like Popey's but just as good! The one thing I did differently was folding the dough a few times after rolling it out, and I used slightly less baking powder and added 1/4 tsp cream of tartar.
