Looks good. I’ve got 400g of chestnut mushrooms and all the other ingredients in. How do you think that they would work instead of the Portobello please? John

Hi John, I think chestnut mushrooms will work great too!! 😊

Thanks Yui. I thought that they would but twas worth checking. Last night was Chicken in Soy Sauce again, a real creamy indulgence which led to the large purchase of chestnut mushrooms. I’ve also got some Scotch Bonnet chillies to think up something for. John

Oh yes I love your chicken in soysauce! I use oyster sauce in this stroganoff as well! How great it is that we can mix and match ingredients in different cuisines and make them taste delicious 😋

Exactly. Travel may or may not broaden the mind but it certainly improves the palate ✔️🤣. The fusion of culinary traditions is what makes some of the tv cookery competitions so interesting and I just love visiting any form of food market anywhere. So often an “imported” ingredient or technique can elevate an ordinary dish to a much higher level. Have a great day. John

I’d just add that, whilst I really like both curries and offal, I didn’t much enjoy the curried kidneys I was given for breakfast in Lahore. John

Oh curried kidney for breakfast might be a bit too much 😅
