Clear liquor should be used, some liquor might not mix well or taste so good, vodka is the best most likely.
Cecelyn @cook_2752631
don't use flavored vodka, the added sugar causes the jello to set softer

The wife and I made them for our graduation from mixology class and they were a hit!...We used granny smith apples (Use a muffin tin for setting up, this will save you a headache) and they were great. Used tropical Pinnacle Vodca and tropical "original" jello mix. The coreing of the fruit may be a pain in the ass, but the result will...WOW...play with midori, and blue curacso for different colors and flavors. Excellent...

These are so good. The worst part was gutting the oranges. I used 10 oranges (so 20 halves), almost a whole fifth of watermelon vodka, and three packs of jello. The watermelon jello with the watermelon vodka was perfect :)

I used Whipped Cream vodka with orange jello. Then, I used Vanilla vodka for the next batch. Tasted like Creamsicle. If the vodka is too strong, try using Triple Sec. It dilutes the alcohol taste of the vodka, while adding more alcohol. B-)

I tried this recipe today. Not wIth oranges, just wIth a glad container and a big bottle of pinnacle whipped vodka. I added too much vodka intentionally and my jello shows it!! Can't really taste the jello flavor lol, but thank you fOr the recipe!! Works great. :)

Haven't made them yet but I will! My husband and I are Vikings fans and our friends are Packers fans. I'm going to try limes with lemon jello and lemons with grape jello for the next Vikings/Packers game:). I'll post a pic when I do!
bbshgoodies @cook_3108864
How about putting the liquor in the freezer until it is very cold? It won't solidify, but the jello will quickly! Beautiful idea! :-)

Super easy and the taste of orange adds to the goodness. Also, fresh squeezed orange as a byproduct? Awesome.
chelseabrown @cook_3185405
yum! if you're having trouble making the orange peels roll around when moving to fridge, try using a muffin pan!! :ohyeaah

Fantastic party idea for any occasion! I ended up making two batches, one with vodka and one without for my guests :-) I power juiced the orange innards for fresh morning mimosas as well. Used up every part of the orange and was very pleased. Thanks for this recipe!
