My Plain Roasted Gammon Shank

Very nice Maureen. By coincidence I’ve done a gammon joint for today’s dinner and am currently making soup with the stock. John

It’d be waste to fail so to do! I’m probably going to play with it tomorrow and turn it into a celeriac and leek soup, treating what is currently cooking as ham stock. An alternative might be to add peas and some pieces of the cooked ham but I’ve done that a lot and a little experiment with something different is always fun. John

Gammon is the hind leg of pork after it has been cured by dry-salting or brining, which may or may not be smoked. ... Ham hock, gammon hock, 😃😍

Nice one one of my all time favourites that my Dad made for me along with roast spuds and cabbage 🥬.
Now my family enjoy it too.
A hearty meal for 6 for under a tenner.
