Yummy. However, I did have to add 30 minutes to the baking time to finish the rice. Flavor was SO good.

we used to always precook the rice. also used streaky smoked bacon helps with the taste and the texture. we always used tinned tomatoes along with some beef stock to make the cooking liquor and used to put sliced lemon on top for that sharpness in taste. it maybe worthwhile looking at some of the polish regional recipes for Golabki on the internet.
this is just a version of it

So if the recipe is incorrect can someone fix it. I went and bought 8 packages as the recipe called for. I thought it was a lot but a lot of vegetarian recipes replace meat with mushrooms so I thought maybe they were just trying to cut down on the amount of meat used. Then I find out after making this it was written down incorrect. :(

If you want a 'no carb' version, use chopped cauliflower instead of rice. Still yummy!

In Albanian language this is called "sarma." We usually use pickled cabbage and no mushrooms, and it's way tastier than with regular cabbage.

My background is German this recipe was different the rice doesn't cook through because of baking it. I'm used to cooking the stuff cabbage on the stove top in the tomato sauce. That will cook everything evenly. The flavors of the stuffing was good .
