tzatziki sauce

ManniFresh @cook_2895950
This is very yummy. I am Bulgarian and we eat this as a salad instead of using it as a sauce. We don't use lemon juice, but that sounds interesting. Adding finely chopped walnuts is also very good. :chef

One of the best sides.. we call it yogurt with cucumber salad but we dont add dill.. we almost always have it on lunch or dinner.

I live in Greece, and we DO use the lemon juice, but every house has it's own recipes for everything...also letting the cucumbers drain through a coffee filter, because you do want the tzatziki thick...I usually grate the cucumber on the larger holes of a food grater and do not use the food processor. No dill in the classic version and garnish is always a single ripe olive and a drizzle of olive oil. My favorite use, is as a condiment for dipping fresh fried potatoes.

Am from Türkiye we call your recipe as Cacik also haydari is so nice but there s a difference between them Haydari is without cucumber and more aromatic you can add more herbs as theme mint :)

I like to use 50/50 fat free sour cream and Greek yogurt. I also add mint and shred the cucumber and press the water out. Omit the oil too.
