Have not made a Cottage Pie,or Shepherds Pie in quite some time.Can go wrong if you don't put enough Gravy,mince meat and onions in the bottom of a Casserole Baking Tin the Gravy can evaporate over a Period of One hour of crisping up the mashed potato on top.

The 2 Photos show that I forgot too make Fork marks over the top of the mashed potatoes. I used Red skinned Potatoes, as I didn't have any Maris Piper Potatoes. I didn't have any Cornflour too thicken the gravy, so I only used 800ml water to 2 Beef Stock Cubes, did give a generous amount of Coarse Sea Salt to the Olive Oil before frying the roughly chopped onions

@fork6 Was - and heating the other half up in the oven later, for 30 minutes the Cottage Pie became even tastier - was some liquid stock at the finished first oven cook - I didn't use Cornflour
