Cool idea but the glow in the dark sticks are extremely dangerous when opened. So never let a child make this alone. The sticks are very poisonous. Always wash hands thoroughly after making the lamps. Do not touch face or mouth when handling the sticks.

If you find the right glow sticks they're not toxic even when opened. this also works with water based lubricant, highlighters, and a black light.

if you take a white or clear string & glue hanging from lid half way of jar length & scrunch up a little piece of paper covered in the glitter and glow stuff it looks like a little pixie flying, so cute!

Just an FYI from personal experience...on 2 occasions a glow stick was accidentally left on a wooden dresser and it stripped the finish right down to the natural wood :( So the insides of glow sticks are considered toxic and should be handled with care if you so choose.

On FB I saw where you open a glow stick and mix it in with bubble liquid (2 tbs) and you can blow glow bubbles. So they say.

I love this idea! I'm going to submit it to my church CCD Director. It can be used as God's light. they can use it for the kids during candle masses so the kids don't get hurt. Thank you for posting this idea.

just looked up about glow sticks. both chemicals in the glow bracelets and such for kids is approved non toxic. a good parent will watch and use common sense also. I love this recipe it is neat:) thank you for sharing.
