My mom, who was full Italian, made me pasta fagioli whenever I asked. I can't find ditalini where I live. Your recipe is very close to hers! : )

Delicious recipe. Quick and easy, good for if your in a rush. Also love that you can suit it to what you have in the fridge meat/vegetables. Family enjoyed this. Don't skip on the parmesan, it makes it taste so much better. Although, did need to add a lot more water to cover the pasta, so it would cook. Easily fixed. I will make it again. Thanks

Loved it but definitely needs much more water than the recipe calls for, even if you want it thick.

Since this recipe did not give specific sizes for cans of tomato, beans and pasta - I just had to judge for myself. I used about 60 oz total of cans of tomatoes (putting 14 oz in blender first). Used 2 15oz cans of cannelini beans. Used 8 oz of ditalini (will use a little less next time). 4 cloves of garlic, 2 celery stalks, 1/4 cup evoo. But I had to use around 6 1/2 cups of water to get it to the right consistency - it was way too thick with not much liquid left after adding the pasta. I also added about 2 TB of paste since I used so much water. But it was very good!

4 cans of beans and uncooked noodles, doesn't have enough water. I ended up having to add 5 cups of water just to get the noodles cooked. even then it turned into beans with noodles.

Tasty! Going to tweak it a little, something as a primary flavor other than tomato.

This is really good and easy to make. The first time I made it,I followed the directions exactly. There wasn't enough liquid, and it made more than I wanted. Last night I tried again with only two cans beans, a can of fire-roasted tomatoes, a can of diced tomatoes with onions, about a cup of pasta, and more crushed red pepper. Everything else remained the same.
