In my childhood, if it got fried in a skillet, it was in bacon grease. We had only vaguely heard of olive oil & butter was expensive. This isn't something you should have every day, but it sure is good. Recommend the 'how to bake bacon' recipe on this site for great comments & uses for bacon fat.
