Can I exchange canned tomatoes to fresh tomatoes?

I think since canned tomatoes are cooked and de-skinned then maybe you could try and blanch them to remove the skin, then cook them down a bit over a low heat. I've not tried this way so not really sure :/ hope it can work for you though! :)

I tried to blanch the tomatoes first and it worked!! It's not as long as i thought it would be. It's so easy, quick and healthier since the tomatoes are fresh. Thanks for your help btw

Have you tried adding bacon to this as well, like a maple or brown sugar bacon to get that sweet and savory flavor.

We loved this. It's easy and I had all the ingredients. I used Mostaccioli (tubular) pasta rather than spaghetti, added some pepper as well as red pepper flakes. I finished up with the shredded Parmesan I had on hand, as well as a like amount of shredded Monterey Jack. My husband raved about it! 😄

Thanks Mo. Sounds like you mixed it up with some great ideas there. Will have to try with mostaccioli too!
