Better than Cheddars broccoli casserole

BIGPAPI @Elpapitan22
As long as it’s wrapped well and in a freezer made container it should be fine.

I don't understand step #3 Do you want me to cook the onion with the butter until tender and then pour into the large bowl?
(edited)

BIGPAPI @Elpapitan22
Yes... my apologies for the late reply. But cook your onions and once tender add it with the butter to the bowl

do you not cook the rice at all? just pour the rice and hot water in the bowl? step one just says heat to boil fluff then add to bowl. do I add all the water to the bowl too? thank you

BIGPAPI @Elpapitan22
Yes you cook the rice. My apologies if it wasn’t clear. But yes the rice needs to be cooked.

BIGPAPI @Elpapitan22
Minute rice is precooked and dehydrated for convenience whereas regular rice is not. You’re more than welcome to use whichever you prefer

I've made this recipe several times. Everytime though I don't use Ritz I use saltine crackers. I also don't mix them with the mix I always add them the last 10 mins of cook time on top so it's a nice crisp to the meal. Tonight though I did a mix of cheez it's and saltine crackers and it was a hit with the family. I can also say this reminds me so much of cheddars that it's always my go to

BIGPAPI @Elpapitan22
I’m really glad you and your family enjoyed it. By all means put your spin on it to your liking. Mixing the the ritz however is simply to add more volume as well as that buttery taste that comes from it. Thank you @MrzRose for your comment

I've made this 5-6 times for holiday gatherings and it is always a HUGE hit, especially with my 15YO son. For a time savings, have you ever made the might before and baked it the next day? Just wanted to make sure it would taste as great!

BIGPAPI @Elpapitan22
@PollocAD216 Hey April thank you from trying my recipe and I’m happy that you and your family enjoyed it on numerous occasions. And to answer your question absolutely I have and it taste just as well as if you did everything that same day.
