Sure! I have never tried it with less sugar but it should work as long as it is canning sugar to make sure that it becomes a jelly! I hope this is of any help for you. Thank you for trying this recipe! 🎄✨

I tried to find canning sugar but I ran into a roadblock. What is canning sugar?

It isn't liquid. It looks more like a mixture of sugar and powder. Maybe it is something tipical German. This type of sugar makes the liquid gel. I just looked at the ingredients on the packaging: sugar, acidifier: citric acid, gelling agent: pectine. Try to substitute this suger with normal sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice and gelatine (3-4 sheets for 500 ml to not make it too hard). Does this help you?
