Totally agree. Making garlic bread yourself so easy to and yields a far superior, less “synthetic-tasting” garlic bread and you can adjust things to suit personal taste or medical requirements, eg manage the salt

Exactly that. growing up I never had store-bought garlic bread, my mum and dad would make it from scratch every time we had a BBQ and cook it on the grill. it was only after my emigrated to the UK that I got to try the store-bought kind and really missed as you say the "superior" taste of homemade.
