Hope you try my mom's version. I grew up very multi cultural....Mom was Polish. Dad is Cuban but we cooked a lot of Italian dishes too...lol
One dish my mother never felt she got just right were her grandmother's potato dumplings. Do you have a recipe to share?

What a good combo! My mom’s side was all Polish; my dad was mostly Irish with some English and Dutch. But- I definitely connect more with the Polish side!
I did post a pierogi recipe a while back. My mom usually makes them with farmer’s cheese, kapusta, or prune filling. I loooove farmers cheese, but I can’t find any around here. So, I made mine with potato and cheese. (Cookpad link below). The dough is one version that my grandmother used. @ChrissyAlpha thank you. You have a nice mix too. I will definitely try them!! Im a simplest with Cuban dishes. Black beans and rice. Dad said to always top with fresh diced red onion. I can eat two bowlfuls. That and the empanadas. 🤤
