Hi there!! I was missing all your comments ;) I'm so glad to see you back! I learned this one from a German baker. It's milder than the Rye Starter!

I mixed my starter with my raisin water today. It keeps separating. Did i do something wrong or am i just impatient?
Felice
Felice @morinoko
Do mean some water comes up from the mixture? I haven't had that happen to me with this starter, but sometimes I get liquid floating on my rye sourdough starter. In that case I just keep mixing it back in...

Thanks for gettin back to me- i used too much raisin water in my batch so my liquid amounts were off. My bad- it's working well now and I hope to make some sourdough donut dough tonight to cook tomorrow. The starter smells amazing!

Which brand of flour was used in this recipe? And is it atta or brown bread or bleached white flour?
Felice
Felice @morinoko
first whole wheat flour then white bread flour. It doesn't matter what brand as far as i know...

In my country, it's so hard to find whole wheat flour. Can i use bleached bread flour?
Felice
Felice @morinoko
I'm not really sure, but I've read that when you first start the sourdough that it's better to use whole wheat. You could still try with bleached flour... it might work!

Which raisin brand would you recommend? I just purchased a bag of organic raisins ingredients includes organic sunflower oil. Thanks!
Felice
Felice @morinoko
I don't think it really matters what brand... I can't even remember what I used, lol. If possible, try to find one that doesn't use oil... organic is definitely good too!

Can we refrigerate the raisin water (with yeast) instead of storing sourdough??Instead of feeding the sourdough once every week, just start a new starter with the same raisin water whenever we need to bake. Is it a plausible way?
Felice
Felice @morinoko
I'm actually not sure, but I've never heard of people doing it that way. I know that if you don't 'feed' it and refresh it every once in a while, the yeast microbes will die off, so I'm guessing if you keep the raisin water for too long, the yeast won't be alive anymore!

can I have this recipe with a standard measure?
Felice
Felice @morinoko
Do you mean cups, tablespoons, etc? If so, I don’t have those measurements :( Or did you want ounces?
