Fried octopus

I live in a rural part of Colombia where Sake can be hard to come by. I currently have a boiled/pressure cooked octopus sitting in my fridge. This recipe looks interesting, but I do not have any sake on-hand or the ability to get sake any time soon. Any recommendations for a sake substitute for this recipe? I appreciate that swapping out the sake would make it a non-Japanese recipe. No sacrilege intended. Thanks.
