Do you let the liquid cover the top of the chicken? I'm trying your recipe now, and just want to make sure I'm not drowning it.

the chicken breast has water in it so it should cover the meat just enough

I took a chance and put the rest of the salsa on top and cooked down wonderfully. I also used chicken thighs (for a second time) and it worked just as well. Thank you!
