I've done it a few times so I'm good. If you notice the cut marks that's where I cut it. But for someone who's never done it, it can be difficult and intimidating. That why I added that small bit in the instructions lol

Blade right up next to spine it will glide threw like butter! If doing a cut up place blade on joints if the blade doesn't glide threw move it over a bit till you find the joint. To split the breast place blade between wishbone mainly cartilage once again shouldn't give you any resistance when processing a chicken there should be no resistance!! Unless if your processing a turkey or ostriches by hand you'll need a hammer. There's 3 ways to do this maybe I'll post!!! Happy cooking 😊
