What is jackfruit and where can I find it? Also what is the origin of this fruit?

it's a tropical fruit popular in Asia and India. my son in law is Indian, that's how I was introduced to it. here we can buy them from small (10 pounds) through about medium (30 pounds). You cut than open and the fruit surrounds each seed. in Asian and Indian or middle eastern markets you can but it in a can also.
