This sounds like a lovely way to use rhubarb! I recall visiting my dear friend Annett Schindler in Knau, Germany back in 2011. She made a rhubarb cake for us. It was a bit different from this recipe as it included strawberries, but delicious nonetheless. She had lots of rhubarb growing in her yard, so she used it often. I will try this recipe and let you know how it goes. If it looks pretty enough, I will send you a photo. Thank you for sharing!

One question: I live over 5,000 feet above sea level. Normally I adjust my leavening and liquids so that my cake doesn't fall in the middle. But this cake is filled with meringue. Will it be okay if I follow the directions as is? Or should there be an adjustment made?
