crockpot chicken and noodles

cprggr @mellowmay31
This was probably the best chicken & noodles I've ever made. Got lots of compliments!

Good, next time I would add vegetables and more broth. It gets very thick.

tracey.mallinger @chunkycook
Very good but very bland. Will make again but will add frozen mixed veggies

I've been making this recipe since I found it on facebook a couple of years ago! After the first few times my husband mentioned that it was a little bland and asked if I could exchange one of the cans of cream of chicken soup for cream of celery. I tried that, in addition to a big handful of frozen chopped onion, and now it is one of our favorite meals. Flavorful, yet still easy on the tummy for when you aren't feeling so good!

Angela @ahub1972
That sounds great! I may try that the next time I make it. Thanks for sharing!

I made this several times but I never added butter. This time I decided to add it and I can taste the difference. i just sampled the broth and tastes amazin with the added butter and poultry seasoning. I can not wait to eat. Also i cook the noodles 1 hr on high or till done instead of 2 hrs on low

This may be a slightly stupid question but what size cream of chicken soup does it call for? 2 of the small cans or 2 of the family size cans? I've been dieing to make it & I'm getting ready to pick up the ingredients!

Can you use non frozen egg noodles an if so do you cook the same way?

Angela @ahub1972
I have not tried. You might need more liquid to help with the cooking of them. There might be comments of others who have tried that. Sorry, I wasn't more help.

Yes. I have used wide egg noodles. I turn the crockpot to high, add 2 cups of wide egg noodles, and let them cook for about 10-15 minutes, maybe a bit longer, depending on how done they are. For the original recipe and for the recipe with wide egg noodles, I decrease the chicken broth to 2 cups. I also add 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning, 1 TBSP onion powder, and 1/2 tsp garlic powder. Very tasty!

Couldn't find frozen noodles so I had too use dry didn't know how much to use so I put about half bag can always use more if needed cooking now

Angela @ahub1972
I believe some have. If there is enough liquid you should be able to put regular noodles in. Otherwise you may want to boil them first.

Was just wondering I have made this recipe and love it however I want to make it today but only have one cream of chicken I do have cream of celery would that work?

Stacey Hansell @cook_9731584
Made this for church yesterday and it was gone before I could even get any! So, figured it was SO easy to make...noodles are cooking now for our dinner tonight!! EASY PEASY....And so stinking DELICIOUS!!

I am ALL for easy. I'm 65 and have an 8 year old special needs daughter that we homeschool. This recipe is the BEST, I substitute cream of celery soup so there is no chopping of celery to add to it. Rarely do I add anything else. Fix up some mashed potatoes and we are good to go.!!!

I really like this recipe and rarely add any additional spices. However I have added a couples cups of broccoli florets to it which tastes good and adds a veggie to round out this dish. Easy and delicious!

We make this a lot. I use a can of cream of chicken with herbs and a can of regular cream of chicken

Hi does anyone know if it would be okay to cook the chicken on high to cut down the time??

Angela @ahub1972
Sorry for replying so late. Yes, I frequently cook it on high and it is usually done in a few hours.

Pamela Topham @cook_23955409
Can anyone tell me where I can purchase these noodles in the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey area? I cannot find them anywhere! Thank you.

Julie Gilreath Smith @cook_26990955
how long do I cook amish noodles. I don't have any frozen ones?!

Angela @ahub1972
I don't really know. If they are dry, then probably an hour on low and less on high. Just make sure to stir every 15 minutes and check.

Alicia Vaido @Lisalovebug
I'm getting ready to put the Frames in. Sure doesn't look like enough liquid. I'm skeered. LOL

Angela @ahub1972
You can always add a bit more broth or water, but I havr never had issues with it.

Kathy Preston-Sweitzer @cook_111277914
Best recipe ever! You must use Reames frozen noodles, in my opinion; however, I use canned chicken. Just add your noodles when your liquid comes to a boil. Try these over mashed potatoes, they're absolutely delicious!!

Angela @ahub1972
If you're talking about the dry noodles, I wouldn't put them in until the last 45 minutes or less. They will get overcooked. You would definitely have to keep a watch over them.
