Duckster's Kitchen @cook_115033127
it looks like my signature dish called Korean styled prawns

Pinkblanket's Kitchen @pinkblanketskitchen
@cook_115033127 this is one of our Signature dish that has Sambal-based paste and that's nice to know the similar look that korean dish has with ours. This one is common in Singaporean, Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai, veitnamese and the likes as these countries share most common ingredients like shrimp paste, palm sugar, candlenuts, and many more and these are in this dish to name a few 😍 this is a very common dish in Asian countries. we make our sambal hot from the scratch. level of heat for sambal can be varied.

@cook_115033127 dear Duckster's Kitchen, believing in dreams is the best thing! 🤗perseverance and persistence will definitely pay off one day. If cooking is your passion, you will definitely make it. As for us, both me and my husband are kind of born into it, as his family had food catering business when growing up and my family ran cafeteria where my mom cooked and managed it herself. cooking is a way of living for us. so, keep cooking and you will be reached your goal one day!!!!! and thank you for stopping by and checking out our food.

SouthEast Asian Countries share similar ingredients when it comes to this type of dish. these countries use dried chillies to make paste, tamarind to give the dish a very distinctive sweet taste, palm sugar, candlenuts a nutty creamier sambal, a thick densed shrimp paste/Terasi/belacan for added asian taste and few more ingredients that make their dishes taste very deep in flavor and sometimes bright in colour. Do give it a try and the list of ingredients can be daunted but if you go through the list, it's actually very easy. we get our asian ingredients mostly from Asian grocery stores. some are available at normal supermarkets depending on which country you are from, the spices are quite easy and common nowadays.

What a lovely recipe and a gorgeous looking dish! I haven't heard of candlenuts before what are they and what can we use for substitutes if any? Thank you!

Pinkblanket's Kitchen @pinkblanketskitchen
@eatswithmish that's very kind of you ❤️candlenuts can be substituted with #cashewnuts and #cashewnuts is used quite often in indian dishes as well ☺️
