The amount of sugar is very less and the cake didn’t turn out to be as spongy as it looks . Followed the recipe to the T though .Comparing the pictures I found my batter to be more runny than what appears in the pic

So sorry to hear that it did not work out for you. 1) the yogurt I used is thick yogurt (not watery) and it is not sour. Yogurt pic is shown.. 2) The freshness of the Flour, baking powder / soda does impact the rising of the cake. So always use a fresh one. You may increase the dose of baking soda to 1/2 tsp. I hope that will make it spongy 3) Since my yogurt is not sour, so not much sugar required, secondly i am bit calorie conscious so if you look into the recipe, the quantity of grease/oil i have used is less compared to regular cakes, same is with the sugar. By the way, the required sugar should be tasted before pouring the batter for baking.
