I suppose you can, but you won't get the same flavour and stickiness. How about using less amount of sugar and more golden syrup?

It's hard to suggest because I have never done it, but I would use 50% amount of white sugar and 50% more golden syrup. Tahlia, try your own way and let us know how it goes. 😊
