You can use regular breadcrumbs, regular flour, or maybe cornstarch or potato starch.

Thank you so much for your reply. I just got my hands on 2 packets of yeast so this is perfect timing. I'm making this recipe for my 80 yo mother who loves loves loves poppyseed. So again thank you.
