Grits are ground up dried hominy. Grits and polenta are very similar. It's stone ground and sifted. The finer grit is made into a corn meal. The more coarsely ground grit is for making grits. You can find it in the cereal isles of the grocery stores. I hope this helps. I have quite a few other recipes using grits posted on this app.
