Hello again. I made this for an event. I used 2.5 kg pork and three times as much sauce. It felt like the saltiness was lost from the sauce while mixing it with excessive meats. The amount of the sauce to coat all meats was enough but I should have made it more to keep consistent taste.

Since I practiced this last night, I’m ready to cook for a bigger portion!! I cooked this with 1kg of pork belly and used the sauce’s ingredients 2 times more. I actually learned how to fry pork meat slices better during cooking from Hurry. The key was to cook them in a small batch for each so that every slice can be brown easily.It’s so satisfying to serve truly authentic home country foods to people from different countries😗 I’m proud of this.

I went to a British-Japanese restaurant with my colleagues and some of them had buta don which wasn’t authentic unfortunately (though the menu described it’s Hokkaido style!). That reminded me of this recipe and wanted to have it for dinner. I followed the recipe and realised how to make the sauce is a bit complicated than expected but it was worth doing it after all😄 All of the effort to simmer the sweet and savoury sauce paid off! This is exactly what I had in Japan!!! 🇯🇵 Thank you for sharing the recipe!
