Parwal or Pointed Gourd Fritters

Irresistible and delightful Vegetable Fritters are no less than a treat during a rainy day. This is what I did exactly when it was pouring heavily outside the other day. I made these yummy Pointed Gourd or Parwal Pakoras or Fritters with Onions. They looked just like Maharashtrian speciality Pakoras called Kanda Bhajiya. With Onions added these lovely looking Fritters were just fabulous both in terms of taste and texture.
My folks loved it to the core. Nothing much complicated at all. Simple Indian spices go into making these beautiful Fritters. And trust me these were crisp and melt in mouth too. I loved making these and my family enjoyed eating as it happens everytime. There is one more thing to share here. Many a times I don't use any Baking Soda and mix the batter with hands instead of a spoon and give it a good standing time of 18-20 minutes later. That's my way of doing it. I do hope you give it a try that way too.
Enjoy Frying with Zeen!

Steps
- 1
Make a thick yet a fluffy batter using all the ingredients mentioned using water as required. Keep aside for 15 minutes or a little more.
- 2
Meanwhile heat oil for frying on a medium high heat after a standing time of considerable duration. Drop small balls of the batter in hot oil and fry until golden brown and crisp. Do it on a medium high heat to high heat only.
- 3
Fry in batches of 2 or 3 or as required. Serve these gorgeous Pakoras or Fritters with a dip of your choice.
- 4
I had served these with plain old Ketchup. It was an amazing combination. Enjoy!
