Excellent. I doubled the recipe and used a little more butter as I found it too thick. I used old cheddar and more than it suggested which is why I needed more butter to thin it out. also added salt and pepper to taste. very tasty.

We really enjoyed the sauce. I added more cheese and cooked the roux longer to get rid of the flour taste.

You have to cook the flour with the butter for a few minutes before you add the milk. I usually add salt and pepper while it cooks. That way the flour doesn't make it taste like wallpaper paste. Also, the sharper the cheese, the better the flavor. Stinky cheese = yummy cheese sauce :nod

Follow instructions!
Make sure to mix milk in slowly and mix with whisk! Do mix constantly or it will get chunky and hard to come back from.
For a spicy sauce fry some jalapeños in a small pan with holes poked into the jalapeños made with a fork. Add jalapeños and the oil into the cheese sauce, delicious!
To cut down on the floury taste just add more cheese until it's the color of the cheese you used to make it.
If it's too thick turn up the heat a little and slowly stir in a little extra milk.
You'll definitely like these minor tweaks!

It tasted too bland and it didn't turn out right. I followed everything. Guess it could be the cheese. Thank you for sharing this recipe and I hope we can figure out what's going on. The substance was too gooey and it tasted more of flour than anything. It was extremely greasy and I thought if I put more milk, it might change it. Didn't turn out any better so I just threw it out. Did I do something wrong. Please comment if you can.
