I've seen something similar, but it had lemon cake for one layer and lime for the other layer - it was amazing, but I didn't know how to make the lemon into lime. Now I do, thanks to your awesome recipe! :nod

this is one of the best key lime cake recipes I use this knee every time very moist... I ground up pecans and put it in the frosting it amped it up even more...

When calling something key lime one should specify the use of key limes vs simply just lime. KEY lime is a variety of lime that has a different flavor than regular limes. It's not just a fancy name for a lime flavored dessert. :) That being said, this lime cake is delicious.
