White gravy (milk)

To enhance the flavor my mom used bacon drippings and / or drippings from the meat that she had chicken fried. Her gravy was always very tasty. Another thing she would do is add just a touch of sugar. It didn't make it sweet, but it kept it from being too briny.

simple and delicious! added a bit of garlic powder and it tastes amazing :-)

Ended up adding a lil extra seasoning (garlic powder, cayenne pepper, more salt and parsley) for more flavor and used 2 cups of milk instead of 3. It came out yummy otherwise!

I was only cooking for myself so I only used one cup of milk and two tablespoons of flour (I like it a little thicker) and only one tablespoon of butter and it turned out perfect. I also added cayenne, parsley and garlic powder to give it more flavor cause I thought just the salt and pepper was kinda bland. I prefer this gravy over vegetables and potatoes. I've tried it over pasta before but wasn't a fan. This definitely isn't my first choice for gravy but when your ingredients are limited, this will do just fine.

I make this often. mix a bit of cheese in and it takes it to another level or you could leave as is and add a coating to each layer of lasagna with the tomato sauce and shredded cheese. also fantastic with chicken and a mix of vegetables on a pastry base with a potato top ( just like Sheppards/potato pie)

:-( This tasted like straight butter , made this to go with my country fried steak, was very disappointed, your better off making sausage gravy without the sausage. If I wanted to eat butter I would've grabbed a stick, .yuck
