I heard in old day people cooking rice with draining step to reduce arsenic naturally absorbed by rice when growing.

Yes, ever since rice cooker become the norm, people gradually forget how to cook rice in traditional way. I have to admit it is so easy to make rice with rice cooker than clay pot. I tried today with clay pot and within less than 20 mins, 20% got burnt TT

Hehe, very true. But once you master the clay pot, i do prefer the results.
