Minggu lalu kami mengundang teman-teman di Belgia kerumah untuk nyicipin makanan Indonesia. Ternyata kue lapis ini populer di kalangan teman-teman disini, maka saya coba berbagi resep supaya pembaca bisa mencoba dirumah masing-masing.
Last week we invited friends to try some of Indonesian food in our home. And apparently this sweet dessert was famous among them. Now I share the recipe so you can try to make it by yourself at home. If you have time... and patience to do it :)

Cara Membuat

Rebus santan, gula, garam, daun pandan hingga mendidih. Aduk terus supaya santan tidak pecah

Setelah santan mendidih diamkan sebentar hingga hangat lalu campurkan dengan tepung beras dan tepung tapioka

Ambil sedikit adonan, beri pewarna merah

Sisanya bagi adonan menjadi dua bagian, yang satu beri pewarna hijau dan yang lain biarkan putih

Panaskan kukusan, oles cetakan dengan minyak, bungkus tutup panci dengan lap agar air tidak menetes

Tuang adonan warna hijau satu takaran, kukus selama 5 menit sampai adonan tidak cair

Tuang adonan warna putih, kukus selama 5 menit

Lanjutkan selang-seling adonan hijau dan putih bergantian selapis demi selapis

Terakhir tuang adonan warna merah (saya tuang adonan merah 2 kali). Lalu kukus kembali selama 20 menit

Dinginkan, lepas dari cetakan, potong-potong kue lapis. Sajikan

Boil coconut milk, sugar, salt, and pandan leaves. Keep stirring so the coconut milk is not broken

After boiled, let it cool down a bit then mix with rice flour and tapioca flour. Mix until there's no lump in the batter

Take a little part of the batter and give a few drops of red food colouring

Divide the rest of the batter into 2, give one batter green food colouring and let the other one stays white

Preheat the steam pot, rub the cake mold with oil (I use small brownies mold for this), wrap the lid with a piece of cloth to prevent the water dripping into the batter

Pour the green batter into the cake mold, steam for 5 minutes until it's set

Pour the white batter into the cake mold, steam for 5 minutes

Continue to make the green and white batter one layer by one layer. And steam each layer for 5 minutes

Last, pour the red batter on top and steam for 20 minutes

After it set, cool it down, take out from it's mold, slice into thin pieces and serve.

You can keep the cake in the fridge and steam it again for 5 minutes before you eat it in the next day
