Steps

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped onions and saute them till soft.

Add peeled and mashed potatoes.
- 4
Add salt and other dry spices and mix them well.

Mash the potatoes well with a masher.
- 6
Let the mix cool then make round balls of equal size.

Add salt, red chilli powder, baking soda and carrom seeds to the gram flour and make a batter with water.

Coat the potato balls in this gram flour batter.

Heat oil in a wok and fry them in batches.

Fry them till they are golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
