Keep all ingredients ready. Heat the oil in a pan, crackle mustard add, gram dhal, cashew nuts, sooji and roast on sim heat. Turn off gas and allow to cool completely.

Once it cools, add curd, salt, water and mix well to make idli batter. Grease the oil, put in idli stand and steam in the cooker for 15 minutes on sim.

Take out idlis from stand serve hot them with coconut chutney.
