Piñata Cake 🥳

This birthday was different—no candles, no guests, just those of us who live in the house. That's why I wanted to make a special cake.
Piñata Cake 🥳
This birthday was different—no candles, no guests, just those of us who live in the house. That's why I wanted to make a special cake.
Steps
- 1
Before you start, make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature. Take them out of the fridge 2 to 3 hours ahead of time so they can warm up.
- 2
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then set aside.
- 3
Beat the butter until it becomes lighter in color.
- 4
Add the four egg yolks and the sugar, and continue beating.
- 5
Gradually add the flour mixed with the baking powder (sifted) and the milk, alternating between them. Continue beating for 2 minutes on medium speed.
- 6
Gently fold in the beaten egg whites you set aside earlier.
- 7
Grease and flour the cake pan, pour in the batter, and bake for 50 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
- 8
🤩 It smells amazing! Remove the cake from the pan and let it cool completely, preferably overnight.
- 9
Now let's make the frosting. The cream cheese should also be at room temperature. Start by beating the cream cheese until creamy. If your mixer is small, cut the cream cheese into small cubes. Gradually add the vegetable shortening. Once both are well combined, slowly add the powdered sugar. If the mixture gets too thick, finish mixing by hand to avoid damaging your mixer.
- 10
Slice the cake in half horizontally to spread the jam in the middle.
- 11
Place the top half back on and start applying the frosting around the edges.
- 12
Use something circular to mark the center of the cake and remove that section to create space for the candies. Don’t forget to add the filling before decorating the top!
- 13
Put the cake top back on and finish decorating as you like. I used colorful ribbons around the sides, some sprinkles, and a bit of candy on top, but feel free to get creative.
- 14
When you cut a slice of cake, the candies will spill out. Serve them together on the plate.
