Ingredients

  • 7-8 leavesArbi / Colocasia
  • 250 gmgram flour / Besan
  • 1 spoondry mango powder
  • 1/ 2 Spoon red chilli powder
  • 1/ 2 Spoon Cumin powder
  • 1/ 2 Spoon garlic powder
  • 1/ 2 Spoon onion powder
  • 1/ 2 Spoon turmeric powder
  • 1/ 2 Spoon coriander powder
  • 1lemon juice
  • 2 spoonvinegar
  • as per tasteSalt

Steps

    1. Wash Arbi/ Colocasia leaves properly and dry it
    2. Take mixing bowl
    3. Put besan, chilli powder, Salt, coriander powder, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mango powder, lemon juice and 2 spoon vinegar
    4. Add little water and make smooth paste of it

    5. Take one big leaf and apply paste on rough side of the leaf
    6. Put other leaf in opposite direction and apply besan paste..rough side of leaf should be facing us
    7. Than place 3rd leaf in same direction as of first leaf and apply paste
    8 4th leaf in direction of 2nd leaf

    9. Make one roll of 4 to 5 leaves max
    10. Fold all leaves together, fold edges first than side and make box type roll

    Steaming Aluvadi
    1. Boil water in your steamer or idli vessel
    2. Place alu vadi roll in idli plate in steamer
    3. Steam it for 25 to 30 mins

    Frying Aluvadi
    1. We just need few drops of oil for this
    2. Take grill or nonstick pan
    3. Brush oil in it
    4. Put pinch of cumin seeds and hing
    5. Cut alu vadi in slice and place it on a grill pan

    6. Let it cook on one side for 2-3 mins
    7. Change side and let other side cook for 2-3 mins
    8. It's ready to serve
    9. You can eat it directly or can have it with your favourite chutney
