I made this traditional Marathi dish called Puran Poli with a twist by infusing it’s flavour in ice cream , which turns out to be awesome.

I made this traditional Marathi dish called Puran Poli with a twist by infusing it’s flavour in ice cream , which turns out to be awesome.

Steps

Soak chana dal overnight.

Boil the dal till dal is cooked, drain excess water. keep aside.

In a pan put ghee then add dal mashed a little, add jaggery,elaichi powder, and cook for 5-8 mins. The Puran is ready when it leaves the sides. Remove from flame and add kesar.

Heat 1/2 cup of full cream milk till little thick. Take whipping cream whip till soft peaks.

In a bowl put thick milk, condensed milk prepared Puran, and mix.

Then finally add whipping cream and mix by cut n fold method. pour the mixture in a container/ tin.

Garnish with chopped pistachios. Allow to set for 8 hours or overnight.

The Puran Poli ice cream is now ready to be scooped.
