Steps
- 1
Wash and Prep Veg. You can either Slice or Chop Cabbage into rough Bite Size pieces. I don't like mine too small, so I Chop it into @ 2" pieces. Set aside.
- 2
Heat a Deep Iron Skillet to Medium Low to Medium Heat. With a Knife or Scissors, cut Bacon slices into 1" pieces, & drop them into the warming Pan. I like to cook the Bacon at a Lower Temp, so that more of the Fat can render out. Cook until Crisp, and remove to a Paper Towel lined Plate. Leave the Bacon Fat in the Skillet.
- 3
Add Onions to Bacon Fat, & turn up Heat to Medium to Medium High. Cook until Onions begin to Soften & Caramelize, then stir in the Minced Garlic. Lightly Salt & Pepper. Cook until the Onions are nice & Soft & Caramelized, & the Garlic is lightly Golden. Begin adding the Cabbage. It may not all fit at once, but as it Cooks, it will Shrink some make Room for the Rest. Add the Paprika, Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic, & Onion Powder & Mix Well, and Cook & Stir for @ 10 Minutes.
- 4
Reduce Heat to Medium Low. Cover with Lid, and let Simmer for 30 - 60 Minutes, stirring Occasionally. Cook Time will depend on how Firm or Soft you prefer your Cabbage. Stir in Bacon Pieces, & Cook until Heated through. Taste for Seasoning. Serve & Enjoy!
